December marks the beginning of the interview season at the University. Interview invitations (such as from Oxford, Cambridge and Universities here in Hong Kong (early round non-jupas applications)) have been sent out to applicants. Different disciplines have different admission timelines, so don’t worry if you have not received yours yet.

Likely questions that come up in university interviews include:

Self-introduction

Why are you interested in the programme

Some subjects specific (academic/ technical) questions

Contemporary issues related to the programme you are applying

Questions about your personal statement, especially the ECA activities listed

The interview aims to explore your academic potential, motivation and enthusiasm (and critical thinking and analytical skills, too) for the chosen subject, so be prepared!
